2012 Festival Happenings

Live Music by Some of Today’s Rising Stars

ALL WEEKEND
Location: Main Stage

We’ve got a larger variety of genres in our music lineup
this year including rock, bluegrass, reggae, gospel and
more! The music and the atmosphere are suitable for all
ages. We hope you’ll sit back, relax and stay awhile.
Tables & chairs are provided, but you are welcome to
bring your own lawn chair or blankets.

Shrimp Peeling and Eating Contest

2:00 pm on Saturday, September 15th
Location: Main Stage

Contestants battle it out to see who can peel and eat their
plate of freshwater shrimp the fastest. This contest only
takes place once during the festival. So, bring your appetite
and be prepared to stuff yourself! Winner will receive a $50
cash prize. Limit 40 participants. Register at the festival
information booth. Fee is $5 per contestant.

 

2nd Annual Coloring Contest

ALL WEEKEND – Ends Sunday at 5:30 pm
Location: Coloring Contest Booth

Who can enter? Ages 3-11. We will divide entries
into 3 age categories: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-11. All other
ages may participate for the fun of it! All entries will
be posted at Freshwater Farms for the public to see.

Angry Fish

Angry FishALL WEEKEND
Game Hours – Fri: 5-8, Sat: 11-7, Sun: Noon-7
Location: Game Zone

Fun for all ages!!! If you like playing Angry Birds,
you’ll love this life-size version where participants
will launch Angry Fish to demolish the pigs and
their castle! Created and operated by the Oak Grove
Mennonite Church youth group.

 

Dr. Dave’s Discovery Hunt

Dr Dave's Discovery HuntALL WEEKEND
Start Location: Information Booth
Cost: FREE

Kids – Explore the territory of Freshwater Farms
while learning interesting facts about aquaculture.
Fill in answers to unlock a magic code that will
allow you to select a prize in Dr. Dave’s secret
treasure chest!

 

Freshwater Shrimp Sales

Freshwater ShrimpSATURDAY: 10 a.m. Until Sold Out
Location: Retail Store

You can only enjoy this special treat once a year! Our
shrimp are placed in the ponds in June and harvested
on Friday morning before the festival. Shrimp will be
available beginning Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and
sold whole for $12-$15 per pound (depending on size).
We usually sell out in 2-3 hours – so get here early!!!
Depending on their harvest results, additional shrimp farmers are expected to join us at the festival as well.

Duck Flush 50/50

ALL WEEKEND – Between Music Groups
Location: Main Stage Area

Sponsor a duck for your chance to win a 50/50 cash
prize. Ducks start out in a tank at the top of hill and are
flushed to a lower tank. The first duck out is the winner!
90 ducks are available for each flush. Operated by the
Urbana Lion’s Club.

 

 

Strider Adventure Zone

ALL WEEKEND
Location: Beside the Game Zone

-Fun Strider riding area.
-FREE and open daily Friday through Sunday.
-Bring your own bike or borrow one of our demo bikes.
-Riding areas with ramps and obstacles are ideal for 18
months to 5 year old riders
